NAMED PERSON STATEMENT
Getting Right For Every Child is a national policy to help all children and young people grow, develop and reach their full potential. It aims to improve outcomes for children and their families based on a shared understanding of their wellbeing. Most children will receive all the support they need from their own families and community.
As part of the GIRFEC approach each child or young person is allocated a Named Person. In Primary the Head Teacher or Principal Teacher of Additional Support Needs is the Named Person and will remain throughout their primary school career. On transition to Secondary School, Guidance teachers become the Named Person.
